Requirement

Medical Standard Candidates should be physically fit for sea service under standard norms, with eyesight 6/6 in better eye, 6/9 in other eye and with no color blindness.

Approval Required

By The Directorate General of Shipping, Government of India.

NAVIGATING OFFICERS TEAM:

  • Captain

B.Sc. (Nautical Science) 3 Years Course

Course Duration: 3 years or 6 semesters residential course.

Eligibility Criteria
Qualification A pass in Plus-two (12th Standard) or its equivalent, with minimum 45% aggregate in Maths, Physics and Chemistry group and at least 50% marks in English.
Age Below 25 years at the time of commencement of the course
Gender Boys and Girls are eligible to apply

ENGINEER OFFICERS TEAM:

  • Chief Engineer
  • Second Engineer
  • Third Engineer
  • Fourth Engineer
  • Junior Engineering Cadets

Course Duration: 4 years or 8 semesters residential course.

Eligibility Criteria

Diploma Nautical Science

Course Duration: 1 year course.

Eligibility Criteria
Qualification Pass in HSC / (10+2) From a Recognized Board with 45% Average in PCM (Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics Subject). (or) B.sc in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or Electronics with Physics as individual subject in one of the years with an average of not less than 55% marks in the Final Year. (or) BE (or) B.Tech Degree.
Age Up to 25 years For H.Sc / 10 +2 candidates

Graduate Marine Engineering (GME)

Course Duration: 1 year residential course.

Eligibility Criteria
Qualification Candidate should have B.E/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or Naval Architecture with Minimum 50% marks in final year. The candidate should have obtained at least 50% in English at 10th or 12th standard or degree course.
Age Maximum 28 years of age at the time of commencement of the course

M.B.A. Shipping & Logistics Management

Course Duration: 2 years

Eligibility Criteria
Qualification Any degree from a recognized University with 50 % marks.(OR) Mariners holding the following professional qualification obtained after a minimum duration of study-cum-training of 6 years after 10+2 leading to:
a) Master Foreign Going Certificate of Competency.(OR)
b) First Class Motor or Steam or Combined (Chief Engineer) Certificate of Competency issued by the Directorate General of Shipping, Ministry of Shipping, Government of India or its counterparts in other countries.

What are the qualifications required to join course?

Educational Qualification:
For 10+2 Science students: from a recognized Board/University with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM), with not less than 45% marks in PCM aggregate. English is must as a subject.

Age Limit: Minimum age should be 17 years and maximum should not exceed 25 Yrs at the commencement of course. Physical and Medical Standards: Medically fit as per the standards set by Merchant Shipping Medical Examination Rules and eyesight 6/6 in each eye without visual aid.
